Silo Owners Fined After Employee Death

DUPLIN COUNTY -- The owners of a grain silo are being fined by the state after an employee died last September.

William Jones, 73, was found dead inside the Nash Johnson and Sons-owned silo outside of Warsaw on Sept. 24.

The state department of labor found three violations after an inspection following Jones' death. They say employees did not receive proper training.

The silo owners have been fined $4,000.

They have two weeks to appeal.
