Frazier Makes First Court Appearance

BOLIVIA -- A man charged with murdering a 33-year-old woman in her Oak Island home appeared in court Monday.

James Frazier was arrested in Tennessee and charged with the stabbing death of Katherine Harlow. Police are investigating whether he had help in the crime.

Judge Marion Warren ordered Frazier back in court in about two weeks for a hearing that will determine if prosecutors have enough evidence to move forward in the trial.

Frazier could face the death penalty if convicted.

Harlow's friend, Jennifer McCorkle, says she strongly believes Frazier's brother, Michael Harvey, was involved with her best friend's murder.

"My gut tells me he didn't do this by himself at all. No. And I don't understand why we haven't heard anything about the brother cause he was there and I know that without a doubt he was there. I think they should still be looking and answering questions," she said.

Court documents indicate investigators are curious about Harvey. They've asked for a search warrant to look around his house.

But for now, only Frazier is behind bars -- in the Brunswick County Jail, without bail.
