-- One local organization is making it possible for some homeless people to get off the streets and into a house.
The Arc of Wilmington has built four duplexes. They will house 16 homeless people who have disabilities.
The project not only offers them a place to stay but a chance at improving their daily lives and futures.
"With the growing homeless population in Wilmington, it's a step in the right direction. It's permanent housing, so hopefully they will be here for a long, long time," said Laurin Camlin, the coordinator for the Arc.
The tenants are set to move in during the coming weeks. In the meantime, the Arc is taking donations for household items like linens and curtains.
