WILMINGTON -- Throughout February WECT has introduced four people, all with the same goal to stick to their New Year's resolution and lose weight. They're members of the WECT Waist Watchers team, but now their time is up. Monday night they had their final weigh-in.
First on the scale was Alton Owen. His initial weight was 228 pounds. He lost 11 pounds in eight weeks, and his body fat went from 28.5% to 19.8%.
Next up was new mom Rosie Guednar. Her initial weight was 174 pounds, but now she's down to 167 pounds. Her body fat went from 34.5% to 30%.
Next to weigh in was Tonya McCoy. Back in January she was at her heaviest ever at 205 pounds. Now she's heading into March at 186 pounds. She also lost 8% of her body fat.
Last man standing was WECT reporter Joe Keiley. He started out at 189 pounds and weighs in now at 184 pounds. He also dropped 2% of his body fat.
Overall the WECT Waist Watchers lost a total of 43 pounds in just eight weeks. All four members say they are going to keep up with the exercise and the healthy diet. They say they've discovered a new lifestyle.
