Officials Honor Walker With New Memorial

A key figure in an anti-slavery movement was honored Saturday, as officials unveiled a monument on Third and Davis Streets.

David Walker was a black man who grew up in Wilmington and went on to write a pamplet denouncing slavery.

City and state officials worked together to bring the marker to downtown Wimington.

Members of the community are happy to see Walker honored at the entrance to Wilmington.
