TABOR CITY -- Billy Jay Wright won't be able to bond out of jail this time.
Just two weeks ago, he vanished from the Columbus County Courthouse after a lunch break with his lawyer, Sen.R.C. Soles. He had been scheduled to appear before a superior court judge on 29 charges ranging from assault and stealing a gun to hit and run.
Police picked him up two days later. But, after Wright posted the $100,000 bond, his court date was rescheduled for Thursday. He was a no-show for that as well.
Police picked him up Friday evening, but this time they're not taking any chances. After processing, police say they will take him straight to jail.
