Untreated sleep apnea can increase the chance of having high blood pressure and even a heart attack or stroke. Untreated sleep apnea can also increase the risk of diabetes and the risk for work related accidents and driving accidents. The risk of undiagnosed obstructive sleep apnea in children include learning problem, behavior problems, and in some cases, failure to grow, heart problems and high blood pressure. In addition, obstructive sleep apnea causes daytime sleepiness that can result in personality changes, lost productivity in school and interpersonal relationship problems.
New Life Sleep Center, Wilmington's new state-of-the-art sleep diagnostic and treatment center, is an independent facility staffed by physicians experienced in sleep medicine, as well as Registered Polysomnographic Technologists. Our staff has a combined 40 plus years of clinical experience in the treatment of sleep disorders.
Our ten bed lab specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all sleep disorders including: Sleep Apnea Restless Leg Syndrome Periodic Limb Movements of sleep Narcolepsy Hypersomnia/Excessive Drowsiness Insomnia Parasomnia
