WILMINGTON -- Forget black tie, the red dress ruled Friday.
New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Hospital Foundation hosted its second annual Red Dress Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Country Club at Landfall.
It's meant to raise awareness about the No. 1 killer of women: heart disease.
A guest speaker talked about the warning signs, then guests enjoyed a fashion show.
Some of the models are heart disease survivors, others are nurses at the hospital's Coastal Heart Center.
Proceeds benefit the heart center.
