Pharmacist, Others Arrested on Drug Charges

WILMINGTON - Special agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration have arrested several people connected to a Wilmington pharmacy that was shut down nearly a year ago.

United Care Pharmacy closed its doors on 17th Street last March. Officials had been investigating pharmacist John Tuite for filling invalid drug prescriptions. Now Tuite and three executives of United Care Pharmacy have been arrested.

They face charges of selling and distributing addictive drugs, including the weight loss drug Phentermine, without requiring people to have a valid prescription.
