BRUNSWICK COUNTY -- A suspected bank robber who was seen using dye-stained bills at Brunswick County stores has been caught.
Richard Ryan Cadwalader, 38, was arrested Thursday morning at a home on Crowell Street in Oak Island.
Cadwalader is accused of robbing the RBC Centura Bank in Southport on December 11.
A phone call tip lead police to a residence in Oak Island. Police say someone recognized Cadwalader from security pictures released of him passing dye-stained bills at area stores.
Cadwalader had been seen leaving both the bank and stores on a moped. Police recovered that moped with evidence of an exploding dye pack inside the compartment beneath the seat.
Cadwalader will be charged with robbery. No bond has been set.
