WILMINGTON -- Wilmington detectives finally had the chance to interview a teenager in New York City Thursday. The 18-year-old is charged with murdering a Wilmington man in December and has been on the run for the last three weeks.
Sharod Johnson was arrested while he was walking down a street in Brooklyn Tuesday night.
Police say Johnson shot and killed Mohammad Abdel Hamid while he was working at the M&M Food Mart on the corner of Ann and 7th Streets.
Two detectives covering the case interviewed Johnson Thursday and will head back to Wilmington Friday.
At this point, it's unclear when Johnson will be brought back to Wilmington to face first degree murder charges. Police say it could take a couple days or a few weeks.
