NORTH CAROLINA --
The warm weather may entice fishermen to hit the water, but they will need to bring along more than just their fishing pole and bait.
Everyone 16 or older who wants to cast a line needs to buy a license to fish along the ocean shore and in the state's tidal rivers and sounds.
The State Division of Marine Fisheries says rangers will remind recreational fishermen before handing out any fines.
You can buy a license at most local hunting stores, as well as K-Mart, Wal-Mart and Dick's Sporting Goods.
The licenses are good for one year. They cost $15 for locals and $30 for out of state fishermen.
