BRUNSWICK CO. -- As children in Brunswick County go home from school for the holiday break, administrators are in a struggle to keep pace with booming enrollment.
Over the next ten years, the school system is projected to be several thousand students over capacity. That has put the pressure on to construct new buildings.
New construction could involve a new high school, middle school, and several elementary buildings.
Supply Elementary School already holds more than a hundred extra students. New classroom space is going up there, but that's only to meet the needs of the current number of students.
The Brunswick County School Board will review a facilities plan at a meeting in February.
