LELAND -- For the second time in two days, eastbound traffic into Wilmington backed up far into the Leland area.
Crews shut down one lane on Highway 74/76 for several hours Tuesday to put up a new road sign. Traffic was backed up all day long.
Some motorists were stuck on on-ramps, because they couldn't merge onto the highway.
D.O.T. workers say they were trying to get the job done before the evening rush hour hit, but the work isn't finished yet. Crews still have to retrieve the sign they took down.
