Riegelwood Receives Help for Holidays

RIEGELWOOD -- One month after a tornado touched down in Riegelwood and devastated the small community, people are still reaching out to the victims.

More than 400 boxes of food, water, and toiletries were passed out at the Riegelwood Baptist Church.

An organization, Feed the Children, sponsored the event but had a lot of help.

Costco donated items, a company called God's Pit Crew transported the goods, and volunteers helped get the items to those who need them.

It was originally for tornado victims, but in the holiday spirit organizers decided to spread the cheer. The majority of the boxes were passed out within two hours. However, some are being stored to be distributed in the new year.
