Jewish Communities Start Chanukah

WILMINGTON -- Jewish communities across the world will be lighting the first candle Friday night to kick off the eight days of Chanakuh.

Here in Wilmington, some Jewish preschoolers and their families got an early start.

Students from Friedman-Neuwirth Preschool celebrated the Chanakah holiday with traditional songs sung by the Rabbi of B'nai Synagogue.

The Rabbi lit the first of eight candles on the Menorah, and the children practiced with some fake ones.

Rabbi Waxman says it's important during the Christmas holidays that people remember the message behind Chanakuh as well.
