Head of Private Police Agency in Court

WILMINGTON -- Joe Guarascio says he's not guilty and will be back in court in February to enter that plea.

The owner and chief of a private police agency in Wilmington is charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer, assault with a deadly weapon, and providing alcohol to a minor.

Guarascio's lawyer says the SBI's investigation is nothing more than an agency looking for charges on his client that don't exist.

Guarascio is still a licensed police officer with the state, and he and all of his officers are still certified.
