Fundraiser Benefits Young Tornado Victim

WILMINGTON -- One child recovering from the Riegelwood tornado is getting a helping hand from his elementary school and Chick Fil-A.

Forest Hills third grader Christopher Freeman is still recovering from internal injuries he suffered when the tornado struck two weeks ago. Both of Freeman's parents died in the storm.

His elementary school organized a fundraising event Thursday night at Chick Fil-A. The restaurant will donate 20 percent of sales between 5:30 and 8:00 p.m. that night to a fund for Freeman.

The money will go to replace his belongings and pay his medical bills.
