PPD Employees Take Tour of Downtown Wilmington

WILMINGTON -- The new PPD building is almost ready, but before the employees move in Wilmington Downtown Inc. wants to make sure they're comfortable in their new neighborhood.

Tuesday morning, close to 60 PPD employees stepped onboard a trolley and headed downtown for a guided tour of the city.

Mayor Bill Saffo was a tour guide on one of the trolleys, pointing out new developments in the area, as well as all the restaurant options.

The tour was designed to give PPD employees a real taste of downtown.

"I think it's an excellent idea, giving us a real chance to go on the tour. A lot of people that have been transplanted here from other parts of the state and other states, I think it's a good idea to show them downtown Wilmington," says PPD employee Tiffany Taylor.

PPD employees will start moving into the new downtown location starting at the first of the year.
