RIEGELWOOD -- Some residents chose to spend their Thanksgiving close to the Holly Tree Road neighborhood looking over the damage, while many community members sought to give thanks together.
Several churches, and groups held special Thanksgiving dinners for the tornado victims.
People gathered at Life Changing Church near the elementary school and at the community center off Highway 87.
Dozens of volunteers came to help by serving the turkey, stuffing, and everything else that makes the holiday what it is.
In Riegelwood, Thanksgiving was about seeing the good that comes out of tragedy.
Many of the victims living in the Holly Tree Road area say they spent Thanksgiving close to their loved ones, but it was a very different day for them than years past.
