WILMINGTON -- The mixers are churning in kitchens all over Wilmington, and turkey lovers are looking forward to Friday's home cooked Thanksgiving feasts. But overeating on Thanksgiving leads to a higher reading on the scales.
A recent study by the National Institute of Diabetes says Americans on average gain half a pound over the holidays. Other studies claim its closer to ten pounds.
Either way, the average American gains some weight, so they turn to the gym to lose those holiday pounds.
Fitness trainers say there are some foods you can enjoy, while avoiding the belly bulge. They recommend sticking with white turkey meat and avoiding vegetables with cream or cheese sauces.
