A Historic Building in Wilmington is Getting Remodeled

WILMINGTON -- Bud and Peggy Dealey own the Jaffe building on Castle Street, and Wednesday the Historic Wilmington Foundation presented them with a $100,000 loan to help pay to renovate the building.

The Jaffe building was built in the early 1900's as a furniture business, and has been associated with the Wilmington Ten, and the Civil Rights struggles during the '70's.

The owners say that's why it's important to preserve it.

The Dealeys aren't sure what the Jaffe building will become.

One idea is to turn it into a community medical center.
