WILMINGTON -- The city of Wilmington is celebrating the opening of their new downtown dock.
City council members Jim Quinn, and Earl Sheridan joined Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo by arriving to the dock by boat.
The ribbon cutting is for what is being called Market Street Landing.
The floating dock is handicap accessible and open to all boats.
City leaders hope that the dock will help attract people traveling on the water to come visit the downtown city streets and shops.
The dock is 314 feet long and has power and water service.
