-- The first of many sports celebrities coming in this weekend for the 4th annual Willie Stargell Celebrity Golf Tournament arrived in Wilmington Thursday afternoon.
Dock Ellis, a former pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, was a teammate of Stargell's and his best friend. Close to 40 other celebrities, many of them baseball legends, will join Ellis for the three day event.
The tournament raises money for local people dealing with kidney disease. Ellis says Stargell would be very proud of this event that bears his name.
The baseball celebrities attending this weekend's tournament will sign autographs Saturday, November 11 at the Hampton Inn at Landfall from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. The autograph session is free and open to the public.
