Giant Tree in Wilmington Gets Prepped for the Holidays

WILMINGTON -- Work is underway on one of the local symbols of Christmas.

City crews are preparing what's called the world's largest living Christmas tree at Hilton Park.

Crews placed the center pole and support pieces so that ornaments and other decorations can soon be strung.

The tree is close to 450 years old.

The 78th lighting of the tree is set for Friday, December 1 at 6:00p.m.
