Weather Causes Dangerous Rip Currents

WILMINGTON -- The high winds and storms off the coast of Wilmington brought in high surf and dangerous rip currents to Wrightsville Beach.

The waves were great for avid surfers, but lifeguards warn that only the experienced should try and battle the waves.

the Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue was out keeping an eye on the surfers, telling them to stay away from the piers.

As for swimmers, they say to stay out all together.
