WILMINGTON -- A Wilmington teenager who was gunned down on a Wilmington street was laid to rest Friday.
Hundreds turned out in Navassa for the funeral services of Latashia Toomer.
Friends and family packed inside the Mount Calvary A-M-E Church to remember the 18 year old.
Toomer died Sunday after being shot by her boyfriend Nathaniel Williams near 6th and Grace Streets.
Williams then turned the gun on himself.
He died the next day from his injuries.
Friends and relatives say they're remembering a young lady who put family first and was getting ready for a fresh start at life.
Funeral goers say the large turnout shows how Latashia Toomer was liked.
