WILMINGTON -- Speaking out for the first time, the owner of Jasmine Cove assisted living facility said he saw no reason to close the facility, as the state plans to revoke its license.
Jasmine Cove, formerly known as The Meadows, is fighting the move and going through the lengthy appeals process.
The home has been under fire for months, accused of a variety of mistakes and shortcomings in resident care.
The New Hanover County Commissioners had urged state regulators to close it.
Owner Ron Burrell said the facility is the victim of county politics. He wants the facility to remain open.
