Surfside Motor Lodge Fire Ruled Arson

CAROLINA BEACH -- A motor lodge fire in Carolina Beach has been ruled an arson.

Investigators say the fire was set intentionally. It started in a back room of the Surfside Motor Lodge on Carolina Beach Avenue.  That's the same street where, last year, another motel was intentionally set on fire.

Investigators are questioning people about the recent fire, which caused extensive damage to the motor lodge.  They have not made any arrests.
