WILMINGTON -- The FDA approved most spinach to go back on grocery store shelves, but don't expect to see it back in the aisles in our area anytime soon.
The WECT news team visited several grocery stores in Wilmington on Monday. None of them had spinach in stock.
This came after the investigation into the E.coli outbreak, which made more than 180 people sick.
Some shoppers said they would never touch bagged spinach again. Others said it would take some time.
"I think it would be a while," said shopper Ellen Lee. "I would wait and see if ... there are anymore problems with it."
Grocery store employees said it will be at least a week before spinach is back on the shelves.
