Fundraiser Helps Preserve Bellamy Mansion

WILMINGTON -- Wilmington residents had a chance to win big bucks and help preserve a local landmark in a reverse-raffle benefit held at the Bellamy Mansion Thursday evening.

Visitors paid $100 for each raffle ticket, which bought them wine, hors d'oeuvres, a bon appetit dinnner, and the chance to walk away with hundreds of dollars.

The Mansion Preservation Fund raised $10,000 from the event. Attendees had the chance to win the remainder of the proceeds.

WECT's meteorologist Craig Carnesi was the master of ceremony of the event.
