BRUNSWICK COUNTY -- The towns of Belville and Leland are considering merging, but not without getting residents' thoughts on the matter.
The neighboring towns have decided to create a committee of both residents and elected officials to discuss the possibility of merging.
While the members are yet to be selected, the merging talks had begun after discussions over a land swap.
Belville Mayor David Long said that there is a lot to think about when it comes to joining forces with Leland.
If the townsfolk in both towns want a merger, the decision would go to the General Assembly.
