HAMPSTEAD -- Authorities are looking for a man who hurled a cinder block into a convenience store to steal hundreds of lottery tickets.
According to Pender County detectives, a burglar broke into Renegade Tobacco in Hampstead early Wednesday morning.
The person apparently throw a cinder block through the glass door to get inside.
More than 1,300 scratch-off lottery tickets and about 120 cartons of cigarettes were stolen.
Authorities said that a thin black male tried to cash in one of the stolen lottery tickets at a Wilmington Scotchman store on US-421 about four hours after the burglary.
Anybody with information regarding the burglary should contact Pender County Sheriff Department.
