WILMINGTON -- Wilmington-based potter Hiroshi Sueyoshi was named North Carolina Living Treasure by UNCW Tuesday.
The award is given by UNCW's Randall Library every two years to honor distinguished North Carolinian artists.
Sueyoshi, who primarily works in porcelain and clay, is an instructor and artist-in-residence at Cameron Art Museum. Sueyoshi's pottery and sculptures have been profiled in national and international exhibitions.
Sueyoshi's work will be shown in a public exhibition at Randall Library from September 30 to November 12.
