WILMINGTON -- A large portion of downtown Wilmington was left without power Tuesday afternoon, after a driver ran into a light pole.
Crews were busy repairing the role at the intersection of Church and Surry streets.
According to Progress Energy, a driver slammed into that pole around 1:45 Tuesday afternoon.
Power was knocked out to more than 1,000 customers on Front Street, Water Street, and surrounding areas.
Officials told WECT that the power had been restored.
