BRUNSWICK COUNTY -- While the planning of the proposed Cape Fear Skyway and Wilmington Bypass are underway, residents of Snee Farm and Stoney Creek continue to wait on word concerning the fate of their neighborhoods.
It has been a month since the Wilmington Transportation Advisory Committee passed a resolution asking state officials to explore other options in planning the new roadway.
In the meantime, residents of Snee Farm and Stoney Creek held meetings and continued to make their concerns known.
Several local legislators are getting in on the act to try and do what they can to help residents and find a solution to the problem.
State Rep. Bonner Stiller (R-Brunswick County) said that the state is not trying to stop any project, but officials will explore all potential alternatives.
