BURGAW -- Burgaw Police Chief Wayne Briley is encouraging residents to add their information to the department's call list.
Briley said there were problems knowing who needed help during and after Tropical Storm Ernesto.
The list gives officers a better idea of who may be vulnerable during inclement weather, including the elderly or people with special needs who may require assistance straight away.
"If they have a special need, we don't mind trying to take care of them," said Briley, "or seeing to whatever it may be that they need to try to make arrangements through emergency management, if the resources aren't available through us."
Burgaw residents who are interested should call the Burgaw Police Department at 259-4924.
