PENDER COUNTY -- A missing hunter in Pender County was alive Wednesday when he emerged just after noon at a construction site by the woods.
The hunter is in good condition and has reunited with his family.
The unidentified man was hunting in the woods off Willard Road on Tuesday when he split up with his partner. His family reported him missing at 2 a.m. Wednesday morning.
After spending a night in the woods, the man walked to a nearby construction site, approximately 1½ miles from where he was lost.
The workers at the site notified emergency crews and authorities, who were out searching for him.
The man was an experienced hunter, but he had never hunted in that part of the woods before.
