WILMINGTON -- A accident involving a stolen vehicle sent five people to the hospital Sunday evening.
According to police, a 14-year-old girl was driving two of her teenage friends in a stolen pickup truck, when it ran a stop sign on Nun Street. The pickup crashed into the passenger side of a Buick travelling on South 14th Street.
Willie Pearson, the passenger in the Buick, was seriously injured. He was listed in fair condition Monday morning.
All others involved in the accident only suffered minor injuries.
The girl who drove the pickup truck was charged with reckless driving. There has been no word on whether the teenagers would be charged with stealing the truck.
