Man in Black Robs Wilmington Bank

A bank robber did not try to get in and out without causing a scene, he made his presence known.

Police say a man wearing all black, including a black mask and gloves, hopped onto the counter at the SunTrust Bank on South 17th Street and yelled at the tellers to give him money.

The man did not show a weapon.  He drove off in a stolen blue Chevy truck.

A New Hanover County sheriff's sergeant spotted the truck as the robber pulled into an alleyway off Marstellar Street.

Police dogs lost the robber's scent in the nearby woods, but officers said they had a vague description of the man.

They said the robber was around 6 feet tall, weighing 150 pounds and had a slim build.
