Extending Access to the Cape Fear River

There are new steps underway to give people more access to the Cape Fear River.

Construction crews are working to expand the Watermark Marina on River Road. The Marina has been annexed and is now part of the City of Wilmington.

The Marina will offer public boat storage and other services to boaters. The City plans to build new public water access facilities on the Waterfront.

The expansion includes 450 new dry slips with plans for more in the future.

The owners hope the Marina will eventually be part of a developed Waterfront that extends all the way to Downtown Wilmington.
