Shelters Opening for Tropical Storm Ernesto

New Hanover County has opened Johnson Elementary School as a shelter.

Brunswick County has opened two shelters this afternoon:

  • West Brunswick High School on Highway 130 in Shallotte.
  • North Brunswick High School off Old Fayetteville Road in Leland.

Pender County has opened two shelters this afternoon:

  • Topsail Middle School on US-17, about 3 miles north of Hampstead.
  • Burgaw Middle School at 500 S. Wright St. in Burgaw.

Columbus County has opened two shelters this afternoon:

  • East Columbus High School at 32 Gator Lane in Lake Waccamaw.
  • South Columbus High School at 40 Stallion Drive in Tabor City.

Bladen County shelters are also open at these locations:

  • Bladenboro Middle School (Old Bladenboro High School)
  • Bladen Lakes Middle School
  • Clarkton School of Discovery
  • East Arcadia School
  • Bladen Middle School (Old East Bladen High School)
  • Tar Heel Middle School
