NC Drivers Expected to Travel Despite Storm Threat

WILMINGTON -- Although Ernesto might keep put a damper on Labor Day weekend, it would not keep everybody off the roads.

According to AAA Carolinas, more than 816,000 North Carolinians are expected to drive during the holiday weekend, in part because gasoline prices are at the lowest since the end of June.

The average gasoline price is $2.80 in North Carolina, and $2.67 in South Carolina.

Wilmington is the city with the lowest gasoline prices in North Carolina.
