Just one day after the start of classes, students at UNCW have a new place to kick back and relax.
The Herbert and Silvia Fisher Student Center opened its doors Thursday. The center is named for the alumni who donated $2 million toward the project. University officials say this is the largest financial gift from individual donors in university history.
Special features include a color-changing water fountain donated by the class of 2006, a 360-seat movie theater, a new game room and plenty of eateries.
The center is attached to the old student union which will undergo renovations later this year.
