Park Visitors Get Close Look at Birds of Prey

WILMINGTON -- Visitors to Halyburton Park got a close look at owls and other fierce fowls on Saturday, during the park's "Birds of Prey" program.

An Outer Banks Wildlife Shelter specialist showed park visitors three different birds of prey. The birds are considered un-releaseable, and need special care and treatment from the shelter to survive.

The Birds of Prey program is intended to educate nature lovers about the importance of protecting these enchanting, majestic creatures.
