Carolina Beach Gets Ready for Hurricane Season

JUNE 14, 2006 -- Tropical Storm Alberto is long gone, but chances are this was just the beginning of another busy hurricane season. Officials in Carolina Beach are making sure they're ready.

Dozens of residents met for a Hurricane Volunteer meeting Wednesday night. If a storm hits, the volunteers will be key in answering questions from worried residents.

In the event of a major storm, volunteers will also set up a food bank and help with damage assessment after the storm.
