JUNE 14, 2006 -- Tropical Storm Alberto has come and gone, but the rain is still bringing us a reminder of the potential problems that lie ahead this hurricane season.
Some residents at the Parkwood Estates in Leland are concerned about flooding. They say the rain that came from Alberto Tuesday night was still sitting in the ditches in front of their homes all day Wednesday, and it's not going anywhere. They are worried a stronger storm may bring bigger problems.
A few residents have tried to contact county and state officials to get the problems fixed and the draining pipes working again. But the state says it will be a few months before the problems will be solved.
