Hockey Fever Spreading Across the Carolinas

JUNE 14, 2006 -- Hockey fever is spreading across the Carolinas as the Hurricanes fight for Lord Stanley's Cup.

It's an exciting time for diehard fans, but other casual fans are also joining in the frenzy.

Hockey players and others at the Ice House in Wilmington are watching the series as the Carolina Hurricanes take on the Edmonton Oilers.

The Canes lost 4-to-3 in overtime against the Oilers Wednesday night. Hopefully that loss won't discourage fans too much because the race is not over yet. The Hurricanes will take on the Oilers Saturday night in Edmonton.
