JUNE 13, 2006 -- The principal at a local preschool is outraged over the health department giving out false information about the school's current health rating.
On Monday, WECT reported that the Mary Washington Howe Preschool in Wilmington was given a "disapproved" rating. The school did get that rating a few weeks ago but was re-inspected last Friday. After that inspection, they received a superior rating.
A supervisor with the health department told us the school had a poor rating because the water was too hot for hand washing. They also said hazardous materials, such as Lysol, were not locked up.
That supervisor has since apologized for the confusion. However, the school's principal said she is still outraged over the mix-up.
