JUNE 11, 2006 -- Pender County Emergency Management has scaled back the search for 79-year-old Santo Deblasi.
A spokesman with the team says it has exhausted all its resources, after more than 100 hours of searching by more than 12 different agencies.
The team found a trail of shoeprints and footprints in the woods Saturday. They believe those prints may have been left behind by Deblasi. However, authorities have found no sign of the man.
Deblasi wandered away from his daughter's house on Island Creek Road on Wednesday morning. He has dementia and cannot see well without his glasses.
If you have any information on his whereabouts, contact the Pender County Sheriff's Office at 259-1212.
